Biography
Luíza Rizzo is a visual artist whose work investigates the relationship between drawing, memory, and nature. She holds a Master's in Drawing from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL), where she developed an autoethnographic approach combining art and botany.
Her research has led her to immersive experiences in the Amazon Rainforest and the Laurissilva of Madeira. Using ink and charcoal, Rizzo translates the textures and gestures of these ecosystems into drawings and an artist's book that connects personal and environmental narratives.
In 2020 she founded Souluarte, a project that extends her practice into illustrations, murals, workshops, and live wedding painting. She currently divides her time between Brazil and Portugal, working from her shared studio in Costa de Caparica.
